Integration Project

"Baroque Dress Tent" I got the idea for this integration project by looking through my art history textbooks to get some ideas of Baroque styled items.  I kept seeing big dress with really big round bottoms and they sort of have the same shape as a camping tent.  I then found a Baroque styled dress and began to cut up the different sections of the tent where the colors were darker or light and changing them to look like a tent.  This image is what  ended up with.

Micro Biologist Raul Cuero

Micro Biologist Raul Cuero was born in a poor town in Colombia where he and his family lived with his grandmother.  as a child he slept on the floor.  He did not grow up with electricity or much of anything.  while living with his grandmother he would play with the roaches that were crawling on the floor and this is what sparked his interest in biology.  He enjoyed seeing how these animals would behave and making him use these creatures as a spark for his creativity and begin his love for education and learning through doing. Through out his life he has pursued many things like athletics education and inventing.  He states that although he has achieve so much in his life so many people think that he was brought up in a wealthy family because of his success.  The fact that a man who grew up having nothing was able to make a successful career for himself.  Through out his life he also endured prejudism because of his appearance when he moved out of his small town where everyone looked

My First Post

Hi my name is Eric Lax, and I am currently a junior studying Digital Art.  I am from New Jersey like so many other students.  I came into college no know what I wanted to major in. To me this was completely fine because it gave me the opportunity to see what kind of thing i really was passionate about.  I had originally declared my major to be  education but soon realized it was not something I really wanted to do so I went back to being undecided.  I then went to being a business major but the same thing happened when I saw what classes I would have to take did not excite me so once again I was back to undecided.  It wanted until the start of my second semester at UT that I realized while taking Beginning to Digital Art that I decided I wanted to study Digital Art.  This was all by chance that this happened because i asked a friend a fun class to take and he recommended that intro class and I am so grateful I took it.
